We are a village

One of my deepest desires used to be to be a mother.

I began to feel a lot of fear around this not happening for me when I got into my mid thirties. One of my friends told me that the universe does not put conditions on our desires, it does not say, “you can not be a mother until you have a husband”.

When I dug deeper into this desires I saw a desire to love and nurture something, and also to feel life with in womb. At the time I was reading tarot cards for a living and had not discovered the Jade Egg practices.

After discovering the Jade Egg practice, I felt life move within me in a way I never had before. A sense of peace and calm replaced the feeling of desperation when I thought about wanting to be a mother. I began to feel like I could have a child if I wanted when the time was right, but that i had a little more playing to do before I welcomed a little one into my life.

I still had a desire to give back to the place that I lived and I recognized that there are millions of children on our planet that do not have mothers. I found an orphanage near my house, but I was afraid to go alone. I prayed that God would give me the strength. Later that day, one of my friends invited me to go to an orphanage with him. When you work with a Jade Egg, prayers get answered very fast.

That week, we went and visited the children. It was an incredible experience. My heart ached in the presence of the children. They are pure love. Their smiles were radiant. I had never been around such pure love.

Yayasan Widya Guna is a very special school. There are over a hundred orphans and 30 handicapped children that go to the school during the day and stay with family in the evenings. Here on Bali, handicapped children are not accepted in society. But at Yayasan WIdya Guna, they are nurtured and loved.

All of the children are fed organic foods, so many of them are able to come off the medications they are on. There is a garden on the land that the children work in. And animals that they children help to care for. The school is using many environmentally friendly techniques for cooking fuel.

I became to sponsor of one of the children there, Sugi. She just turned 15 years old. She is so beautiful! I am so grateful to her for being the light that she is and giving me the opportunity to open my heart and give a little love to child. It has been a beautiful opportunity to feel needed. I bought a cake for her and her friends on her birthday. It was the first birthday cake she ever had. It was very powerful for me to provide this for her. My deep desire to give love was quenched.
